THE RUSSIANS SET A NEW STANDARD
This week a booze rep came to me with a new product available in BC. It was called Russian Standard vodka which is a name I'd heard but knew little about. Great packaging, authentically Russian, smooth, mellow, good tasting vodka, so what I was just waiting to hear was the $60 pricetag. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the sweet sound of $24.49, which is an absolute bargain.
I for one am not really a vodka guy but I do understand it's immense popularity. But what I don't understand is people paying through the nose for the stuff, wasting cash on Grey Goose and the like, when you'd be far better off with a bottle of Wyborowa or Stoli and $30 in your back burner.
So I raise a glass of Russian Standard to all those over priced vodka drinking fools and say thankyou to this distiller for not ripping us off. Nastrovje!
