NICK'S TOP FIVE #1 - On Screen Drunks in a Comedy Role.

So here is the first edition of 'Nick's Top Fives' of everything booze culture related. This will be a regular posting, so the first edition needs to be something special. So what better way to kick things off than the category of "Top Five On Screen Drunks In A Comedy Role". So, counting down from No. 5........

5. "Bluto" (John Belushi, Animal House). No one can forget the famous scene of him chugging a bottle of JD, but this also sticks in the memory as a classic....

4. "Arthur Bach" (Dudley Moore, Arthur). The first Arthur movie saw one of the best drunk performances from the late Dudley Moore. The movie's too long to put up so here's one scene I managed to find....

 3. "Frank the Tank" (Will Ferrell, Old School). Frank the Tank will live on as a legend for years to come and here's one of the classic Will Ferrell moments....

 2. "Bad Santa" (Billy Bob Thornton, Bad Santa). It's so wrong that it's just so right....

1. "Withnail" (Richard E. Grant, Withnail & I). Still my all time favourite drunk, if you haven't seen it, see it...absolute legend....

and here's a bonus clip for the inaugural number one spot.....

Hope you enjoyed the first top five and here's to many more!

Withnail and I is a must for anyone who loves booze, hated being 30 with no money (or is on their way to it), knows the perils of overstimulated drug use and has a strong penchant for Hamlet monologues in the rain. An excellent first Number One choice. PONCE!
