BackBar - Booze Culture Distilled

As you may or may not have noticed, the Olympics are coming at the end of this week and it'll be bringing rather a lot of extra people to our city, an estimated 1.5 million in fact. 

So, to coincide with this historic event, the team at backbar are launching the first edition of their annual, credit card sized, fold out, independent bar guide to Vancouver. We felt it would be refreshing to have a convenient bar guide that actually recommended bars that we like, rather than the usual tourist traps. We wanted to create a guide that we would like to have if we were in an unfamiliar city.

The stylish guide features 40 of our favourite bars, from good cocktail joints to wicked dive bars, with photos, a map and all the relevant information you'd need, in a sleek, concise, pocket sized package. The guide will not only be useful to visitors to the city but also locals looking for better bars. You may find some bars haven't made it to the list as space was an issue, so you can refer to our video bar guide, for a much more extensive guide to Vancouver's better bars.

We're going to release an updated guide each year, to keep up with the ever changing bar scene, which'll be available for free, at the featured bars, hotels and other points of sale throughout the city.
