"IT'S A REMATCH BEEYATCH"
Last Monday marked "It's A Rematch Beeyatch Vancouver II", held in Gastown. This competition is a fastest bartender contest that started in London, to bring all these bartenders, self-proclaimed mixologists, and cocky booze reps, to see if they have what really counts. Now held in various cities around the world, the aim of the game is to make 10 different rum drinks as fast, as accurate and as stylishly as you can.
The first in Vancouver was held at the Cascade Room, which was a thoroughly boozy affair in which Tannis Ling from Chambar emerged victorious from a talented field. She may not have had the fastest time, around 4 mins, but was apparently the only one who's drinks didn't taste like arse. Check out the video from that event.
Which brings us on to the second installment, which was equally, if not more boozy than the first. At this one, it was a red speedo clad Josh Pape, of the Diamond, performing to the Baywatch theme-tune, who hit an excellent time of just over 3 mins to claim the title. Check out the photos of what in our opinion is the greatest cocktail contest of them all, that is fast becoming a legend.
